Install catalyst control center it should work fine". after the installation is done reboot again Now install remaining items except for catalyst control center. some options are mandatory dont worry about those. Start the driver installation and under installation type go for custom

Uninstall amd drivers using the Display Driver Uninstaller program in safe mode. So yea, do not disable my other graphics chip ever again haha So i have been restoring it since last week trying to get it working back to normal. The drivers disappeared for both the hd4000 and the hd 7670, catalyst centre disappeared, instead, for Display options in device manager a VGA display showed up randomly and it looked like my monitor resolution and ability looked like the 1960s display I tried disabling the laptops graphics chip in device manager, but little i knew, everything went wrong. Sorry i didnt post anything since the last one, i was experimenting i was just wondering that.ĬPU only for rendering. i was just wondering wrote:īy the way, does inventor rendering mostly use CPU or GPU? when i render, my CPU is sky high. Thanks for your help guys, appreciate it, if i find a solution i will deffo leave a message here.īy the way, does inventor rendering mostly use CPU or GPU? when i render, my CPU is sky high. Jflaherty, do you mean disable the integrated intel card from Device manager? or is there another way? nothing in bios for that though.īy the way, in the device manager under display it does show both the cards as well.īut im scared if i disable the intel card and leave the amd able, something might happen and ill loose my display and then i dont think i can use my laptop after that, then im really screwed lol.īut i might even try that, its getting to that point for me x) I have looked at everything really, im stuck haha.

Yea sounds like it should of been done by either sony or amd, they should have a kind of software that you can use in these circumstances.Īs for bios, i have checked that too, there is nothing in the bios setting regarding the graphics card nor the display options. This is some details, im not a computer geek by the way, i just know some stuff from experience.

Ill try getting in touch with AMD or Sony later on the week when i have the time to but i was hoping AUTODESK would have a solution to this, are these threads and post the only way to ask them? or could there be a specific email or something i can use? 21st century and this is what we all have to deal with and pay loads of hard earned money to buy.Īnyways, i really have look everywhere to find a solution, and no manufacturer seem to have a clue what to say or do.

The weird part is that every time i go to AMD website to install the new driver, after install it converts my HD 7670m into HD6700 in device manager, weird right?! i still cant figure this strange conversion out, i goes backwards ?!?! hahaha. Thanks for the replies guys, but i should of mentioned, i don't have a dell laptop, its a Sony vaio z series, the one that came with the docking station a couple of years ago, the docking station has a DVD and the AMD HD 7670m in it, kind of a combo really. Is it that much of a difference with inventor and solidworks? its unbeleivable! Inventor keeps freezing when i zoom in and a lot of the times it closes on its own, in which i keep sending error reports but not one person helped me so far from Autodesk. I like Autodesk inventor and used it for a long time, but i have used solidworks for 1 year and i have never had any kind of problem with it. i cannot change anything in bios because there are no options for graphics card and the settings in inventor does not really do anything. I have looked everywhere on this matter and cant find anything to help. What can i do to make inventor use my external card instead? Now the problem is that every time i use inventor it only uses my laptops card instead of my external card which is plugged in. My laptop has an integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics card, however, i bought an external docking station which has AMD Radeon HD 7670m 1G ram card in it, allowing it to accelerate the laptops graphics. I am having GPU usage problems with inventor 2014, in the ultimate design suite.
